With sustainable yarn, the value lies in the documents. In our own knitting we use organic cotton (combed, open-end, melange), 80% cotton (Better Cotton) / 20% recycled cotton and recycled polyester; we supply these and other certified yarns with the spinner’s certificate and the transaction certificate (TC) chain for each shipment.

01 Standards
GOTS covers not only organic fibre content but also chemical use and social criteria; the “organic” label requires at least 95% and “made with organic” at least 70% organic fibre. OCS only verifies that organic content is tracked through the chain. GRS and RCS track recycled content: RCS requires at least 5%, while GRS requires at least 20% recycled content and adds environmental and social criteria.
Better Cotton works differently: it supports Better Cotton farmers through a mass balance system and is not a physical content claim for the product. For each of these standards, the claim is only valid if every company in the chain is certified and a transaction certificate (TC) is issued per shipment of certified goods.

Kayteks holds GOTS, OCS, RCS, GRS, OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, OEKO-TEX® STeP and amfori BSCI certifications, and also shares Better Cotton (BCI) and Sedex documentation with buyers. We can process certified yarn into fabric and home textiles in our own facility and run the document chain from one hand.
04 Samples & Documents
Yarn decides quality before the fabric does — so we ask our spinners for measurable data with every price, and pass the same data on to you.

OCS only verifies that organic fibre content is tracked through the supply chain. GOTS additionally covers chemical restrictions in dyeing and finishing, wastewater and social criteria; it requires at least 95% organic fibre for the “organic” label and at least 70% for the “made with organic” label.
Both track recycled content. RCS is a content verification for at least 5% recycled content. GRS requires at least 20% recycled content and additionally audits environmental and social criteria.
No. Better Cotton is a programme that supports better practices in cotton farming and mostly works through a mass balance system; it is not a claim that the product physically contains Better Cotton. Organic cotton is documented with GOTS or OCS.
Certified yarns are sourced from spinners certified to the relevant standard, and a TC is issued per shipment. Whether the TC can extend to you depends on the certification scope of every company in the chain; we clarify your project’s document chain together at the quotation stage.
